LTN restrictions on Westcombe Hill

School Streets

A consultation by the Council that affects Sherington, Our Lady of Grace and Invicta schools. The proposals would introduce restrictions on streets around the schools, preventing access and parking at specific times during term time.

LTN restrictions on Westcombe Hill The introduction of the restrictions around Sherington school will force traffic onto adjacent roads - roads which are used by children walking to school. Whilst the council recently repainted parking bay and double-yellow markings on Bramshot Avenue, they have not repainted fading markings on Eastcombe Avenue, near where children cross.

LTN restrictions on Westcombe Hill Monitoring showed traffic regularly exceeding 20mph on the upper part of Eastcombe Avenue. The WCRA have asked for a pedestrian crossing to be considered here. A quick measure would be the repainting of these faded markings around this blind bend, where near misses have been witnessed between vehicles and pedestrians (made worse when large vehicles park here).
